<english>We have been banished from our land—the Land of Israel—on account of our sins; we have been driven far from our land. We cannot ascend to Jerusalem, to come before You, to bow to You,1 and to carry out our duties in Your chosen House, the Holy Temple—in the great and sacred House, which is termed the "House of God" and bears Your name. This came about through the hand of our enemy, which was dispatched to ruin Your Holy Temple. May this be Your will, Lord, our God and our fathers' God, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—our compassionate King, that with Your great compassion, You should show mercy to us and to Your Holy Temple once more, and that You should restore the Holy Temple swiftly and magnify its glory. Our Father, our King, our God—swiftly disclose Your kingdom's glory upon us. Appear to us and exalt Yourself over us in the sight of all living beings to behold. Draw near those of us who are dispersed among the nations; gather in those of us who are scattered throughout the earth's far ends. Lead us to Zion, Your city, in song; lead us to Jerusalem, where Your Holy Temple stands, with eternal gladness.2 There we shall arrange for You the offerings that we are bound to bring: the daily burnt-offerings in their prescribed order written in the Torah, and the Musaf offerings in accordance with their laws.</english>
