<english>My God, keep my tongue from uttering hurtful things, and restrain my lips from speaking falsely. Let my soul stay still and disregard those who curse me; let my soul be as humble as dust before all. Open my heart to Your Torah that I may grasp it rightly, and let my soul ever pursue Your commandments. Swiftly nullify the designs of any who intend to do evil toward me, and wreck their schemes. Let them become as chaff—the tiny, inedible husks of grain—borne off upon the wind, and let the angel of the Lord drive them aside. Aid me with Your right hand, and answer my petitions so as to save the Jewish Nation, Your precious nation, from distress. Do so in order to make Your name great, that all may recognize that You are a great God; do so in order to fortify Your right hand, Whose glory has grown faint in exile; do so in order to disclose the majesty of Your Torah; do so in order to multiply Your holiness in this world.</english>

<text>At Shacharit and Minchah—when a minyan is present—the chazzan repeats the Amidah, beginning on page 559. The congregation ought to attend closely to the chazzan and answer אָמֵן after every blessing. Custom also calls for answering בָּרוּךְ הוּא וּבָרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ each time the chazzan recites בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהֹוָה.</text>

<text>1 Studying the laws of the Temple offerings takes the place of actually offering them. In a previous blessing we mentioned the offerings we can no longer bring. We now ask God that until the Temple is rebuilt, we should at least merit to study about it in the Torah.</text>
