<english>God declares: Until this hour, others spoke ill of the Jewish Nation. Now, I will create fresh, favorable speech issuing from people's lips as they describe them. They will cease wishing them injury; rather, they will wish them peace. Then they will wish peace both to one who remained always close to God and one who stood distant and became close by repentance—and I will heal and cleanse him of his sins, says the Lord. A kindly spirit came over Amasai, the head of the officers among the hosts who sought to battle for King David and he said, "We are yours, David; and we stand with you, son of Jesse. Our aims are peaceful—peace toward you and peace toward your helpers—and we seek nothing in return, because your help comes from your God." David received their offer of aid, and he appointed them to serve as the heads of his army units. And you, the Jewish Nation, should say one to another, "May it be like that throughout your life likewise; may you dwell in peace, may your household dwell in peace,1 and may all that is yours rest at peace." The Lord will give strength to the Jewish Nation, His people. The Lord will bless His nation with peace.</english>

<text>1 The term "strength" is an allusion to the Torah, which helps us overpower our evil inclination. The word "peace" appears twice in this verse, hinting at the fact that when we overcome our evil inclination, we create peace in two realms: peace between God and humanity, and peace between our good inclination and our evil inclination.</text>

<text>The word עָם is related to the word עֲמִימוּת, which means a smoldering coal whose flame is concealed. This verse is telling us that when Mashiach comes, God will give "strength" to those who feel that their fiery connection to Him has diminished, allowing them to experience the great Godly revelations that will occur at that time.</text>
