<english>heed Him; and He deals with them in abundant kindness if they repent. To every living thing the Lord is good, and on all His works He has mercy. Lord, all Your works shall render thanks unto You, and Your loyal ones shall bless You. Of Your kingdom's majesty they shall speak; of Your great might they shall speak. Of these matters they will speak, so that people may know of God's mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of His kingdom. God, Your dominion is a kingdom that includes all worlds, and Your sovereignty over the worlds shall endure forever, across all coming generations.1 The Lord upholds all who fall, and He makes straight those who are bent. God, the eyes of all look in hope to You for aid, and You grant them their food in its due season. You open Your hand and furnish food enough to fill the desires of every living being. Fair is the Lord in all His ways, and kind is He in everything He does. Close is the Lord to all who cry out to Him, and He answers all who cry out to Him in truth and sincerity. He fulfills the desires and needs of those who revere Him; He hears their pleas for help, and He delivers them. Over all who love Him the Lord keeps watch, and all the wicked He will destroy. My mouth will utter praises of the Lord, and all will do likewise and bless His holy name forever and ever. We shall bless God, now and forever. Praise the Lord.</english>

<english>הַלְלוּיָהּ Praise the Lord. I shall praise the Lord. All my life I shall praise the Lord; I shall sing to my God so long as I exist. Do not rely on eminent, mighty people, for they are merely mortals, who lack power to bring salvation.2 When someone dies and his soul departs from him; he is buried and goes back to the dust.3 In that day, all his designs come to nothing. Hence, happy is the one whose rescuer is the God of Jacob; blessed is he whose hope rests in the Lord his God. God is Maker of the heaven, the earth, and the sea, and all that is in them. Forever He keeps His word in faithfulness.</english>

<text>2 The word נְדִיבִים can also mean generous, and in this verse it would be referring to unholy powers. At first a person might think that these unholy powers are "generous" because it is so easy for a person to receive energy from them. But these unholy powers "don't have the power to save" the person from falling to a low spiritual level.</text>

<text>3 The energy that comes from unholy powers is temporary. When we elevate the holy sparks hidden in the world, the unholy powers are cut off from their source of energy, and they "return to the earth."</text>

<text>4 The evil inclination's distractions distance us from God and make us "hungry" for Godliness. God then turns this hunger and yearning into a source of motivation, giving us increased energy to serve Him.</text>

<text>5 These words are a reference to three kinds of struggles in the service of God: "The imprisoned" refers to those who want to meditate and connect to God but are tied down and "imprisoned" by physical matters. "The blind" refers to those who have eyes and are aware of the spiritual, but are "blind" and cannot connect to it in a meaningful way. "The bent" refers to those who look downward and are only involved in worldly matters. God helps all these people overcome their challenges.</text>
