<english>To any person who dwells in the shelter of God on high—who studies the secrets of the Torah and is sheltered in the shadow of the Almighty—I say the following concerning the Lord, Who guards me and fortifies me, about my God, in Whom I trust: He will deliver you from being snared in traps and from ruinous plagues. He will cover you and shield you with His wings, and you will find refuge under His wings. The truth of God's promise—that He will watch over you—will guard you like a shield and armor. If you trust in Him, you will not fear the terror of the night. You will not be afraid of an arrow in flight by day. You will not be afraid of a plague that roams about in the darkness of night, nor of a plague that roams about in the afternoon. Even should pestilence fell a thousand at your left side and ten thousand on your right side so that they collapse and perish, it will not come upon you. Only look with your eyes, and you shall behold the wicked people as they are punished. This will come to pass because you said, "You, Lord, are my refuge," and you made God, the Most High, as your refuge. No harm will befall you, and no plague will draw near your tent, for God will charge His angels concerning you to keep you in all your ways. The angels will bear you in their hands, lest you strike your foot against a rock. You will tread upon lions and snakes; you will trample upon young lions and snakes without being hurt. God says, "I will save a person because he desires Me, and I will fortify him because he knows My great name and reveres Me. When he calls to Me, I will rescue him. I remain with him amid trouble. I will deliver him from his distress and honor him. I will satisfy him by granting him length of days, and I will show him My salvation."</english>

<english>The following song concerns the era of the Redemption. At that time we will say: Sing a new song to the Lord for He has done wonders for us. His own right hand and holy arm have aided Him; He has received help from no one and from nothing else. At first, God made known through the prophets that He would save us, yet now He has shown His righteousness to the eyes of every nation. He has recalled His kindness and His faithfulness to carry out His pledge of aiding the House of Israel. All who dwell at the far corners of the earth have beheld the salvation which our God has granted us. All who dwell upon earth, lift your voices in joy to the Lord. Burst into song and make music. Play music to the Lord with a harp, with a harp and with tones of song. Lift your voices in joy before the Lord, the King, and laud Him with trumpets and with the sound of the shofar. When the Redemption comes, the sea and all that is in it will roar, as will the world and everyone</english>

<text>1 "The pleasantness of the Lord" is a reference to the great spirit of holiness that we bring into the world when we study Torah and do good deeds. This holiness is so great that we cannot really experience or understand it. It remains "upon" us, but is not internalized "within" us.</text>
