<english>Wrap in gloom the foes of our people. Sayings of peace and truth were written [and sent] to every locale; His rescue stood mighty as a rock and fortress; the spoiler was spoiled and caught in his own net; the accuser was borne off, felled, waylaid. They appointed festivals and fixed them for every generation; though Scripture would have it recalled three times and not four,1 it was agreed Above that this be written below once more, for a hint was found inscribed in the Torah whereby to rest it. Your hand was lifted to grant pardon to the transgressors; You appointed [Mordechai] the Jew and Hadassah [Esther] as their rescuers—their righteousness remains forever unto our delight, the eminence of their glory the rescued shall recall. Show zeal, O Awesome, Holy One, for the honor of Your Name; look upon Your vineyard, now trampled, downtrodden; assemble our dispersed, and a new song shall be sung to You; uphold them and give them life by the rebuilding of the Bet Hamikdash. As You have wrought awesome acts in those days, so work wonders for us with an everlasting salvation, that we may obtain before You atonement and consolation, Almighty King who sits upon the throne of mercy.</english>

Almighty One, You have instructed us to recite the Thirteen [Attributes of Mercy]; this day remember for our sake the Covenant of the Thirteen [Attributes], as You made it known to [Moses] the humble one in former days, as it is written: And the Lord came down within the cloud and there took His stand with him, and he called upon the Name of the Lord.</english>
