"english": "humble prayer]; avenge the shame wrought by oppressor and mocker; tread [the foe as in a] winepress that their life-blood gush forth. Indeed, You have ever been, You are now, and forever shall You be in Your glorious majesty; You have declared that the offspring of Your faithful ones1 shall endure forever,2 yet here they stand, being laid waste by the force of Your wrath. By their iniquities they have roused Your ire, hence from [the Holy Land], their delight, they were torn away; they were scattered to the earth’s ends and obtained no rest; their spirit is crushed and they lie cast down in the dust; plowmen have plowed upon them and lengthened their furrows.3 Sunk in the mire are they, and none is there to rescue them; those who prey upon them remain secure from end to end; day after day their foes provoke them; their hands they stretch forth to be delivered from oppression. Their lives are spent in grief and sighing; great is their calamity and darkened is their joy; they look for deliverance, but there is wailing; foes tortured them and hollowed a pit for them. Insidiously they plot to turn them away from You; they load them with a heavy yoke to drain their strength; they cry to You when their spirit grows faint, seeking ease from the weight of their burden. They pour out their supplication as they stand crowded together, they plead for pardon with lowered heads; their oppressors goad them and hand them to slaughter; let them be bewildered with a [spirit of] confusion that they may be annihilated. Redeem from utter destruction those who cleave to You; save them from the oppressor and lift them up; ordain deliverance for those who seek You in prayer; Strength of the worlds, deliver us openly. Zealous and avenging God, show zeal for Your Name; shatter the yoke from the neck of Your people; behold our toil and relent from Your anger; champion our cause against the people who wage war against You. Repay sevenfold into the bosom of my tormentors; make Your arrows drunk with the blood of my persecutors; bend Your ear to the voice of my pleas, grant me favor when I call, “Lord, Lord.”",
