Should there not be at least nine men responding Amen after the blessings, it amounts to a blessing in vain. One should properly respond with \"Boruch Hu u'Voruch Shemo\" (\"Blessed is He and Blessed is His Name\") whenever the chazzan says Blessed are You, Lord."
