<text>While at prayer, attend to the sense of the words. Bear in mind that you stand before the Divine Presence. Banish any distracting thoughts, so the mind stays fixed on prayer. Before the Amidah begins, step three paces backward, then three paces forward. Say the Amidah quietly—but audibly—standing with feet together. From the Amidah's start through page 319, no interruption of any kind is permitted.</text>
