<english>2. Those bullocks and he-goats destined for burning were slain at the altar's northern flank. There their blood was collected in a service vessel, and was to be dashed toward the veil of the Holy of Holies and upon the golden altar. Leaving out any one of these sprinklings rendered the sacrifice invalid. [The Kohen] emptied the remaining blood at the western foundation of the outer altar; if, however, he neglected this act, the offering was not thereby invalidated. All these offerings1 were consumed by fire at the site where the ashes were deposited.</english>

<english>3. Communal and individual sin-offerings—the communal sin-offerings being: the he-goats offered on Rosh Chodesh and on the festivals—were slain at the altar's northern flank, their blood collected there in a service vessel, and four sprinklings of this blood were required, one at each of the altar's four corners. How was this accomplished? [The Kohen] ascended the ramp, turned toward the ledge that borders the altar, and proceeded to the southeastern, northeastern, northwestern and southwestern corners. He emptied the remaining blood at the altar's southern foundation. These offerings, dressed in any fashion, were consumed within the courtyard of the Sanctuary solely by the male Kohanim, that same day and evening until midnight.</english>
