<english>והיה And it shall come to pass, should you diligently hearken to My commandments that I lay upon you today, loving the Lord your God and serving Him with your whole heart and your whole soul: rain I will grant your land in its season, both the former rain and the latter rain, and you shall harvest your grain, your wine and your oil. Herbage I will grant in your fields for your cattle, and you shall eat and be satisfied. Guard yourselves lest your heart be enticed, that you go astray, serving alien gods and prostrating yourselves before them. Whereupon the Lord's anger shall blaze against you; He will shut up the heavens, rain will cease, the ground will withhold its yield, and you shall quickly perish from the good land the Lord bestows upon you. Therefore, set these words of Mine upon your heart and upon your soul; bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall serve as a reminder between your eyes. Teach them to your children, speaking of them as you sit in your house and as you walk upon the way, as you lie down and as you arise. Inscribe them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates—that your days and the days of your children may be lengthened upon the land which the Lord swore unto your fathers to grant them, so long as the heavens remain above the earth.1</english>
