<english>keeps His promise in faithfulness forever. He executes justice for the oppressed; He gives food to the hungry; the Lord sets free those who are bound. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; the Lord raises those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. <english>הללויה Praise the Lord. Chant to our God for He is good, for He is delightful; praise is fitting for Him. The Lord is the restorer of Jerusalem; He will gather the dispersed of Israel. He mends the broken-hearted, and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He gives each of them a name. Great is our Master and abundant in might; His understanding is beyond reckoning. The Lord fortifies the humble; He hurls the wicked down to the ground. Raise your voices to the Lord in thanksgiving; chant to our God with a harp. He shrouds the heaven with clouds; He readies rain for the earth, and makes grass grow upon the mountains. He provides the cattle their food, to the young ravens which cry to Him. He takes no pleasure in [those who place their trust in] the might of the horse, nor does He wish for those who rely upon the thighs [swiftness] of man. He desires those who fear Him, those who yearn for His kindness. Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; Zion, exalt your God. For He has fortified the bolts of your gates; He has blessed your children among you. He has made peace within your borders; He sates you with the finest of wheat. He sends out His command to the earth; His word races most swiftly. He gives snow like fleece; He strews frost like ashes. He hurls His ice like morsels; who can endure His cold? He utters His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow. He declares His words [Torah] to Jacob, His statutes and ordinances to Israel. He has not done thus for other nations, and they know not [His] ordinances. Praise the Lord.2</english>
