<english>מזמור A Psalm, a hymn for the Shabbat day. Good it is to praise the Lord, and to chant to Your Name, O Most High; to declare Your kindness at dawn, and Your faithfulness through the nights, upon a ten-stringed instrument and lyre, with a harp's melody. For You, Lord, have made me glad by Your deeds; I chant for joy at the works of Your hand. How vast are Your works, O Lord; how exceedingly deep Your thoughts! A brutish man cannot grasp, a fool cannot fathom this: when the wicked sprout like grass, and all evildoers blossom—it is so that they may be destroyed forever. Yet You, Lord, are exalted forever. Truly, Your enemies, Lord, truly, Your enemies shall perish; all evildoers shall be dispersed. Yet You have raised my strength like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil. My eyes have beheld [the downfall of] my vigilant foes; my ears have caught [the doom of] the wicked who rise against me. The righteous shall thrive like a palm tree, rise high like a cedar in Lebanon. Rooted in the House of the Lord, they shall bloom in the courtyards of our God. They shall bear fruit even in old age; they shall be full of sap and freshness. This is to declare that the Lord is righteous; He is my Strength, and injustice is not in Him.1</english>
