<english>destructive pestilence. With His pinions He will cover you and under His wings you will find refuge; a shield and an armor is His truth. The terror of night you shall not dread, nor the arrow flying by day; neither the plague that stalks in gloom, nor the havoc that lays waste at noon. At your [left] side a thousand may fall, and at your right ten thousand, yet it shall not reach you. You need but look with your eyes, and the recompense of the wicked you will see. Because you [have said,] “The Lord is my shelter,” and the Most High you have made your haven, evil shall not befall you, nor shall plague draw near your tent. For on your behalf He will charge His angels to guard you in all your ways. Upon their hands they will bear you, lest you strike your foot upon a rock. Upon the lion and the viper you will tread; upon the young lion and the serpent you will trample. Because he desires Me, I will deliver him; I will strengthen him, for he knows My Name. When he calls upon Me, I shall answer him; in distress I am with him; I will rescue him and bestow honor upon him. With long life I will sate him, and My deliverance I will show him.1</english>

<english>מזמור A Psalm. A new song sing to the Lord, for wonders He has performed; deliverance for Him have His right hand and holy arm wrought. His salvation the Lord has made known; before the eyes of the nations He has revealed His justice. His loving-kindness and faithfulness to the House of Israel He has remembered; all, from the earth’s farthest corners, witnessed the deliverance by our God. In jubilation raise your voices to the Lord, all the earth; break forth in joyous song and chanting. With a harp sing to the Lord, with a harp and with the sound of song. With trumpets and the shofar’s sound, jubilate before the King, the Lord. The sea and its fullness will thunder in joy, the earth and those who dwell in it. Their hands the rivers will clap, together the mountains will sing. [They will rejoice] before the Lord, for He has come to judge the earth; the world He will judge with justice, and the nations with righteousness.2</english>
