<english>In compassion He lights the earth and those who dwell on it, and by His goodness the work of creation is continually renewed, day after day. How manifold are Your works, LORD; in wisdom You made them all. Your creations fill the earth. Alone He is the King exalted from the beginning of time – praised, glorified and raised high since the world began. Eternal God, in Your abundant compassion, have compassion on us, LORD of our strength, our Rock of refuge, Shield of our salvation; our stronghold are You. The blessed God, great in knowledge, readied and made the sun’s rays. The One who is good formed glory for His name, encircling His power with radiant stars. The chiefs of His hosts, the holy ones, exalt the Almighty, ever proclaiming God’s glory and holiness. May blessing be Yours, LORD our God, in the heavens above and on the earth below, for the whole magnificence of Your handiwork and for the radiant lights You formed; all these shall glorify You, Selah!</english>

<text>All will thank You: A short poem built around the last word of the previous line, “All,” which is repeated here five times, four times at the beginning of a phrase, and once at the end. In monotheism, to worship anything less than the All is idolatry – be it worship of the self, the race, the nation, the ruler or the political system.</text>

<text>The verse is directed against dualism: the perennial temptation to see in the suffering of the world, a force (evil, darkness, the devil) independent of, and opposed to, God. Dualism sees strife and war, contest and conquest, as part of the structure of reality itself. So profoundly did Judaism reject this idea, that it placed this counter-affirmation at the beginning of our collective prayers.</text>
