"english": "live. Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving-kindness and His wonders done for humankind, for the thirsty He satisfies, and the hungry He fills with good. Some sat in darkness and death's shadow, bound cruelly in iron chains, for they had rebelled against God's words and scorned the counsel of the Most High. With hard labor He humbled their hearts; they stumbled, and none was there to help. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and from their distress He saved them. He led them out from darkness and death's shadow and broke open their chains. Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving-kindness and His wonders done for humankind, for bronze gates He shattered and their iron bars He broke. Some were fools in sinful ways, and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. All food they found repulsive, and drew near the gates of death. Then in their trouble they cried to the LORD, and He saved them from their distress. His word He sent and healed them; from their destruction He rescued them. Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving-kindness and His wonders wrought for humankind. Let them offer thanksgiving-offerings and recount His deeds with songs of joy. Those who go to sea in ships, plying their trade upon the mighty waters, have seen the works of the LORD, His wonders in the deep. He spoke and raised a tempest that lifted high the waves. To the heavens they rose and plunged down to the depths; their souls melted in misery. They reeled and staggered as drunkards; all their skill was to no avail. Then in their trouble they cried to the LORD, and He brought them out of their distress. The storm He stilled to a whisper, and the waves of the sea grew calm. They rejoiced when all was quiet, then to their destination He guided them. Let them offer thanks to the LORD for His loving-kindness and His wonders done for humankind. Let them exalt Him in the people's assembly and praise Him in the council of the elders. Because of its inhabitants' wickedness, rivers He turns into a desert, springs of water into parched ground, fruitful land into a salt marsh. The desert He turns into pools of water, parched land into flowing springs; the hungry He brings to live there, they build themselves a town in which to live. Fields they sow and vineyards they plant that yield a fruitful harvest; He blesses them, they multiply greatly, and their herds do not decrease, though few they had been and brought low by oppression, adversity and sorrow. Contempt He pours on nobles and makes them wander in a pathless waste. • He raises the destitute from poverty and enlarges their families like flocks. The upright see and rejoice, yet the mouth of all wrongdoers is stopped. Whoever is wise, let him take these things to heart, and reflect on the loving-kindness of the LORD."
