Before nightfall, set food enough for two meals at a spot lying within 2000 cubits of the town limits; you thereby grant that spot the standing of a dwelling for the following day, and may then walk 2000 cubits from there.</text>

<text>On Shabbat, transferring objects from one private domain to another is forbidden, as is transferring them from a private domain into an area held in common, such as a shared stairway, hallway or courtyard. An Eiruv Hatzerot is formed when, before Shabbat, every Jewish household in a court or apartment block deposits, in a single home, a loaf of bread or matza. The whole court or block then constitutes one private domain, within which carrying is allowed.</text>
