"english": "In the third new moon after the people of Israel had departed the land of Egypt, on that first day, they came to the wilderness of Sinai. Having journeyed from Refidim they came into the wilderness of Sinai, and pitched camp there in the desert; there, facing the mountain, Israel set out its camp. And Moses went up there to God; and the LORD called to him from the mountain, saying to him, \"Thus shall you speak to the house of Jacob, and tell the house of Israel: You yourselves have seen what I wrought in Egypt; and how I bore you aloft on eagles' wings, and brought you to Me. And now - if you will heed My voice, if you will keep close My covenant, you shall be My treasured possession among all the peoples - for the whole earth is Mine; but you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation. These are the words you must speak to the children of Israel.\" So Moses returned, and summoned the elders of the people, and set before them all these words with which the LORD had commanded him. And the whole people answered as one: \"All that the LORD has spoken, we shall do.\" And Moses carried the people's words back to the LORD. The LORD said to Moses, \"I shall come to you in the denseness of the cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and so believe in you also, forever,\" and Moses reported to the LORD what the people had said. \"Go to the people,\" said the LORD to Moses, \"And let them sanctify themselves today and tomorrow, and wash their clothes. See that they are prepared for the third day, for on the third day the LORD shall come down upon Mount Sinai, in the sight of all the people. Set a bound for the people round about, and tell them: Beware of going up the mountain, or even of touching its edge, for whoever touches the mountain shall die. Let no hand touch it, for that one shall be stoned or shot through; whether man or beast, he shall not live. Only when the horn sounds a prolonged blast, may you go up the mountain again.\"",
