<english>behind them. Profound dread filled them - and Israel's children cried out to the LORD. They said to Moses, "Are graves wanting in Egypt, that you have led us here to perish in the desert? What have you done to us, taking us forth from Egypt? Did we not say this very thing to you while we remained there - 'Let us alone, only permit us to serve Egypt, since serving Egypt is better for us than dying in the desert!'" Yet Moses said to the people, "Do not fear. Stand here and behold the deliverance the LORD will work for you this day; for the Egyptians you behold today, you shall not behold again all your days. The LORD will fight for you, and you need only keep still."</english>

<english>The LORD spoke to Moses, "Why do you cry out to Me? Command the children of Israel that they must set out. And as for you - lift your staff and extend your hand over the sea and split it, that Israel's children may pass through the sea upon dry ground. And I - I shall embolden Egypt's hearts and they will go in after them, and I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all of his hosts, his chariots and horsemen; Egypt shall know that I am the LORD when I gain glory through Pharaoh and all of his hosts, his chariots and horsemen. Then the angel of God who had gone before the Israelite camp withdrew and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud withdrew from before them and settled behind. And they stood between Egypt's camp and Israel's camp; and when cloud and darkness arrived, the night was illumined - and neither camp approached the other throughout that night. Moses stretched his hand over the sea, and the LORD drove the sea with a fierce east wind throughout that night; it turned the sea into dry ground, and the waters were split. Thus Israel's children went into the sea's midst on dry ground, and the water stood as a wall for them on their right and on their left. Egypt pursued them, going in after them, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots and horsemen, into the sea. At the morning watch, the LORD gazed upon Egypt's camp through a pillar of cloud and fire, and threw that camp into confusion. Their chariot wheels came loose and moved with hardship. "Let us flee from Israel," said the Egyptians, "for the LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!"</english>
