<english>Children of men, those dwelling in darkness and death’s shadow, bound cruelly in iron chains – from darkness and the shadow of death He brought them out and shattered their chains. Fools some were, with sinful ways, and they suffered affliction because of their iniquities. All food they found repulsive, and they drew near the gates of death. Then they cried out to the LORD amid their trouble, and from their distress He saved them. His word He sent and healed them; from their destruction He rescued them. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loving-kindness and for His wondrous deeds toward humankind.</english>
